Welcome!
Ha… I may be an aspiring author, but whenever it comes to finding something to say about myself, I really struggle with where to begin… I suppose people usually start with where they’re from, but in my case, I can honestly say all over! I’m proud to call myself an Oregon resident and have been able to make that claim for over a decade now. However, I was born in Illinois and mostly raised between Wisconsin and Maine. In my early twenties, I also spent a few years in Idaho as well. So yeah! – I mean it when I say I’ve been all over – but I’m very pleased to say that Oregon will likely be my home for a long, long time.
Perhaps more interestingly, much of my childhood was spent in antique shows, malls, auctions and museums as I was raised by a very successful fine arts dealer who still specializes in Pre-Raphaelite art and Meissen (a type of German porcelain.) This interesting guy on the right is one of my personal favorite pieces currently on display at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. (And I’d like to think that those who read my story will likely come to realize why it speaks to me so much, too!)
Naturally, such an upbringing entailed a lot of traveling and I credit such frequent exposure to the arts as to why I’m an artist today! When I’m not working on Ferrum Perpetua, I research art for the family business. Because of this, I continue to gain knowledge and find inspiration – not only in ideas, but in ways I can continue to grow and improve within my own projects! And in my free time, when I’m not gaming like a little goblin, I am frequently browsing art and writing subreddits in an ongoing effort to hone my craft.
For now, life is peaceful – just me, my husband and the dogs – just the way I like it! But, that’s about the gist of who I am. I intend to write more on this page later, so keep checking back! And more importantly thank you for checking out Ferrum Perpetua! <3
